Staffing policy - academic staff

KWIK College's staffing policy is anchored on the principle of "Quality in All aspects". As such there is a deliberate effort to match, as far as possible, job responsibilities and the candidate's qualifications, skills, abilities and relevant experience.

In general terms, a candidate to a teaching position will be expected to possess a qualification which is at a higher level on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) than the programme/course to be taught. In any case, at least a Masters degree is required for appointment on academic staff; except in special circumstances, for example, possession of a professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, backed by sufficient appropriate experience.

The appropriateness of the qualifications and experience for teaching a specific course unit/module will be assessed with reference to, but not necessarily limited to, prior experience as a professional and teaching ability. "Teaching ability" refers to proven ability to:

+ Design suitable course outlines and content,
+Transfer knowledge to learners through lectures and other forms of teaching,
+ Set and mark coursework assignments and examinations on a timely basis,
+ Supervise, counsel, and guide students to successful career achievement.
