The Certified Public Accountant (CPA-R) is designed for persons who aspire to become professional accountants, auditors, finance managers, tax managers, or specialist consultants in these disciplines.

CPA-R is examined and awarded by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (ICPAR) – a member of the International Federation of Accountants, a global body that brings together millions of professional accountants in 135 countries.  

What KWIK College does is to:

• Admit students who intend to pursue the programme.
• Facilitate the registration of the students with ICPAR.
• Conduct teaching of the various course modules on the programme; including intensive sessions as the examination season approaches, designed for examination preparedness.
• Arrange with ICPAR to administer examinations at KWIK College campus in Kigali.
• Follow-up with ICPAR to obtain examinations results for each of the students.

CPA-R is structured in three (3) levels:

• Foundation Level: consisting of eight (8) examinable papers, which are sub-divided into two (2) sub-levels.
• Intermediate Level: consisting of four (4) examinable papers.
• Advanced Level: consisting of six (6) examinable papers, which are sub-divided into two (2) sub-levels.

It is possible to successfully complete the programme within three (3) to four (4) years.

You are eligible for CPA-R programme if you are:

• Holder of at least Rwanda Certificate of Secondary Education (Senior Six) awarded by Rwanda National Examination Council (RNEC), Rwanda Education Board (REB), National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA), Workforce Development Authority (WDF), or equivalents – with at least two principal passes.
• Holder of Accounting Technician Diploma (ATD), or equivalent National Diploma in which accounting is a major subject.
• Able to effectively pursue studies in English language medium of communication.
• Holder of a university degree in accounting, business administration, finance, is eligible for exemptions from specific modules on the programme.
